Why's Gordon Ramsay So Angry? He Tells Us

Gordon Ramsay on 'Hell's Kitchen' That sound of pans clanking and Scottish-accented shouting in the distance can only mean one thing: The premiere of "Hell's Kitchen" is just around the corner.

Chef Gordon Ramsay is back for a fifth season of the reality show in which he attempts to find the chef who will work in his newest restaurant -- this time, a new place at The Borgata in Atlantic City. "Hell's Kitchen" premieres at 9 p.m. ET/PT Thursday on Fox. (Click here for local listings).

I recently sat down with the infamous chef, who talked about the most common mistakes chefs make when they're trying to impress him, how much he's thinking about making good TV while filming the show, and just what it is about mediocre food that makes him so angry.

Check it out:

one of the best shows on tv. Gordon Ramsey tells it like it is. Some americans don't like Ramsey because
of his sharp tongue.... OH WELL GET OVER IT-------

I am one of Ramsey's biggest fans and try to never miss his shows, Kitchen Nightmares and The F Word. I do wish he'd find a different 'f' word to use but as long as he doesn't say it around his children, everyone else seems to be OK with it. It's my age showing, I guess. For those who don't like his show for whatever reason, you're forgiven - either go watch something else or change the channel.

I like Ramsay. He doesn't coddle the weak and useless to avoid hurting feelings. The customer that ordered the dish doesn't care how you felt...they only care about taste, quality and value.
Those that condemn him for being mean don't seem to understand the absence of emotion running a business truly requires...they only want everyone to feel good about themselves. He demands results and proper results. If that's not your forte...stay away.
The only thing that would be more devoid of life, spirit, and imagination than watching reality shows, in my opinion, would be to sit in judgment of what others choose to do with their time.

Gordon is a perfectionist. I would be honored to have him teach me the art of becoming a chef.
Anyone who has been to boot camp can appreciate his style. Learn to do it right or get out!

I love watching Gordon and he is not mean. It is very rare nowdays to see someone that is very passionate about what they do and does not have patience for incompetence. All he ask is that they try their best and have passion about what they are doing. and if they don't they should just go home. That's the way I was raised and I wish there were more people like him in the world. That is what's wrong with most people today. They have no PRIDE in what they do, are LAZY, and could care less about their performance in what ever it is they are doing. People are too sensitive, are babied and pampered. And sometimes I think he is too gentle to some people. Everyone needs to MAN-UP or WOMAN-UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS AND STOP BEING SUCH CRYBABIES.....

Gordon is the best! His antics are for love of service and value for the customers. The food must be spmethig special each and every time and he battles against apathy in up and coming chefs, which is admirable. He is not mean, but rather passionate. For the hater bloggers, don't watch and go do something else, but I am sure it will not be as much fun as watching Chef Ramsey on any ne or all of his shows!

I LOVE CHEF RAMSAY!! He is by far the most awesome person! He is taking care to make sure that food he serves, or someone he employs, is perfect! He is the best reality show host, and he is MEAN, but it's all for good reason. Everyone who goes on his shows, know what they are getting themselves into, so it's just their own faults if their feelings get hurt. Come on, you know if your a good cook or not. Thanks for all the shows Chef, you are amazing!

When I first caught this show, I couldn't believe how they could let this on TV! The more I watched it made me realize that he is a compassionate and professional Chef. I am looking foward to this new season.

While I am normally too busy to have a seat and watch television, once in a while when I have a second and I flip on the tube, I flip thru the channels to find Hells Kitchen.Chef Ramsay is frank and to the point. After all he has a business to run.If you don't like it don't watch.Go find something more worth while to **bleep** about, because you are probably not bothering him.

Gordon Ramsey rocks! Any wanna be chef should know that he is not going to have a "less than perfect" chef working in his restaurants. Yeah, his screaming in your face is a bit much. But, I attended culinary school and had/seen chef's do this type of thing. It actually makes a better chef. After all, who wants to be served raw food??? I watch the show regulary and look forward to another season. Bravo !!!

The Chef is a **bleep** who needs his knackers knicked. Who wants to watch a program of some angry out-of-control idiot screaming at people - the show is so dumb I have never go thru more than a few seconds of his idiocy.

I am totally excited that the show is back! I love Gordon Ramsay. I agree with one of the other comments as far as how nice it is to see someone like Gordon that is so passionate about what he does and that's why he's one of the best! He's worked hard to get where he is and he wants to help other cooks be the best at doing what they love. He does yell quite a lot, but if you hear the other chefs talk, they appreciate that Gordon was honest and straightforward with them instead of treating them like children. I will watch any show that Gordon is on. Not everyone is going to like or agree with the way he works, and that's fine. No one is telling you to watch him. There are enough of us that will! (He's gorgeous)!

I hve never watched that program and never will. Why would anyone want to subject themselves to that maniac? There is no reason on this earth that he needs to be so angry. He is a coronary waiting to happen. I am truly amazed that a program like this one ever made it to TV. I guess the morals of our country have really gone downhill.

When you really really watch the T.V shows Gordon Ramsay is on; you must watch his eyes, facial movements, He NEVER talks to the "camera" as many hosts do, He talks to the person(s) and truly hears what they want to do, He hears them with his eyes and heart and instinct. Perfection in ones passion for sports(soccer), Photography, Medical profession, Cooking or whatever it may be. YOUR Name is more valuable than Fame. Failing to some people or not showing passion on what they do, they are failing their name and values etc.
A perfect example! When you pay $1.00 or $100.(s) to see a soccer game you want to see perfection/passion/excitement. When you go to a medical specialist for the 1sts time to the 9th time that specialist spent years on learning to be the best and will find what ingredient is missing in healing you. When you go out to dinner as many of us have and you LOVE fish & chips, or beef wellington you want perfection as if the chef is eating the same dinner as you are. So Gordon Ramsay demands what he gives to others he demands what other will give to him. Passion/Perfection nothing more and nothing less.

Two things about this TV cook/actor:

One: His own EFF word back at him for the "Stupid American" bit he gets off on. I've walked around Corporate Office Parks listening to the foreign language discussions, that so often ended in English "Stupid Americans". (Viva diversity, and all that, but I'm sick of it. )

Two: I am also sick of hearing the EFF word tossed around gratuitously. This overrated cook and even more overrated actor with a crass TV show and an dry-drunk sounding anger problem is merely a tool of Hollywood. They will stop at nothing to bring depravity to every single channel. In cultured civilizations, it is not necessary to demean, berate, step on, verbally abuse, insult, vulgarize, pound, chop, slice and dice any human being. Period. Get the hook.
