Emmy nominees Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, co-executive producers and writers of NBC’s "The Office," have been given the go ahead to write a script for a third "Ghostbusters" film, according to Variety.
It’s been nearly 25 years since the first “Ghostbusters” broke box-office records and became a comedy classic; a sequel followed in 1989.
While no deal has been set yet with the cast, the intent is to bring back all four original stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Harold Ramis. I want the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man back too.

Tracy: Do you realize there is an election coming up? Maybe that is why the whole "passionate kisses flip flopped" and now you are writing about ghostbusters movies? Check the comments board for your reviews. It should tell you why the level of comments are so low.Sat, 06 Sep 2008 18:25:02 GMT | sysmom75

I, for one, am really looking forward to this. It is a great property and I think it could be amazing! As far as the idea that just because there is an election coming up does that mean we have to stop everything else? Oh yes one liar is challenging an old man for supremacy in the White House? Wow! Stop the presses. I don't think so. Keep me entertained and let the politically minded pontificate on the shortcomings of the elected officials and let the rest of us talk about something else!Sat, 06 Sep 2008 19:03:27 GMT | FNHSpidey

YES! With today's special effects the Ghostbusters sequel could be absolutely fantastic! They should definitely get as many of the originals guys back as they can, but add some new star power too as like Ghostbuster trainees or something. This movie could be HUGE!Sat, 06 Sep 2008 19:21:11 GMT | Yodaman

And yes, we know there is an election going on -- a ROTTEN, Mean spirited, "Our-side-against-your-side", Same-old-same-old bull**bleep** election that is being waged by moneybags who have completely disenfranchised an entire nation. Go figure, but I'd rather talk about Ghostbusters! Give me a call when you have succesfully restored honor to politics (See ya in about 100 years.).Sat, 06 Sep 2008 19:36:37 GMT | jjorgs

Its cool that anada(another) sequel is coming out! I would have liked to see them redo the oringinal. The first will always be the classic in my own subjective universe. I was just talking with a friend not to long ago this year about my love for Ghostbusters and how it was my favorite movie from my younger years. How ironic that is been almost twenty-five years, and there is 25 letters in my name! Again this works for me I look foward to it! 96 69Sat, 06 Sep 2008 19:46:46 GMT | ScorpionFIRE

Well, it comes down to either watching the Anti-Christ try and take over the US and delete everything that has to do with the good old USA and America, including the Bible and the flag or watching a comedy. Me, I will watch a comedy and do my Bible reading and pray we don't get him in. McCain may be older, but he and Pallin have the experience and knowledge to keep America at least straighter and better. Obama, go back to where you originally came from. We don't need the Anti-Christ yet.Sat, 06 Sep 2008 20:08:00 GMT | Geema

Where I think that new Ghostbuster film would be great and I love the original cast to come back I just can't think that maybe they are a little to old to do it. Have you seen Bill Murray lately, and Dan Akrod is getting a little large for the outfit don't you think. However if one does get put in the mix I will definetly go and see it.Sat, 06 Sep 2008 21:44:36 GMT | optimus30
