Victor. Is the Eye On Idol blog going to be back next season? I sure hope so.

Is this blog still going to be here but with no new articles or will it be closed down?  If it is being closed down, when will that happen?

Thank you for doing such a great job during Season 8 of American Idol.
I haven't always agreed with you on certain issues, but isn't that what America is all about?
I'll follow the other links on AI, and I'm following you on Twitter, though I don't seem to be much of a tweeter on Twitter. I think I'm more of a twit.
Have a great 4'th, enjoy the Summer, and I look forward to your return for Season 9.

Thanks for the kind words. We're still figuring out the transition for next season, and this blog will probably come down some time in the next month or so.

We'll make sure you know about our "Idol" coverage next season. Just keep an eye on the Comcast.net home page as the "Idol" rumble begins to approach in January.

I'll add my voice to this chorus -- it wouldn't be the same without you, Victor! As soon as the season heats up I 'spect some Idol tweets and more great columns here!

Not trying to beat a dead horse here, but I occasionally read some of the posts at Fancast. While they will get me through the offseason, it just isn't the same feel over there. And most of them can't write their way out of a wet paper bag. So enjoy your break from Idol, Victor, and we'll see you after the Superbowl! (isn't that when it usually starts up? . . . demonstrating my ignorance here . . . YIKES!)

Yes, Shattah, I also enjoy Victor's blogs here way too much and I know that the multitude of people who use this site would agree that Victor is our number one and it would not be the same without him or not be the same somewhere else....

Not only did I enjoy your very informative articles, but it lead me to meet some dedicated Idol fans and bloggers and develop some new friendships!! Please stay here Victor!!.... Victor... Say it isn't so! If the rest of us don't need a break, why end it? Surely there is year round material out there??

We are hanging in Hiatus-ville, keeping an eye on you, as you keep your eye on Idol!! As practically everyone above mentioned, we don't much like change.... so here's hoping the blog is kept in tact with you at the helm (or whatever that thingy is... LOL)

Thanks to Victor, there are so many of us who look forward to the Eye on Idol blog, not only because we are fans of the show, but because we are now friends. I sure hope "Eye on Idol" stays put for next year, with Victor continuing as our host.

Thanks for a great season, Victor. You've given us so much to think & talk about and really helped this season come alive for me.  I've been an Idol fan for years, but this year, I really felt as if I was part of it.  Can't wait for next year - I expect to see you back at the Helm.  It just wouldn't be the same without you.  Thank you again for giving us a great place to discuss Idol and some wonderful blogs to help start the discussion.

Just wanted to say it was your column that got me started with the whole Comcast thing-
prior to that, had never read a blog-or even posted .

Anyway, your insight into the entertainment arena-specifically American Idol-kept bringing me back. Being a journalist myself (print/radio-so it's a shift), it's not an easy thing to keep my attention. But you did-as did the many people who blogged here. I particularly liked the live coverage with comments. You made it real-
I could feel it.

Because of what I got involved in here, I somehow went deeper in, and now I'm an official
member of the Comcast Forum-American Idol Hiatus being my "Home" base, so to speak.

Hey, I just "turned blue"! Just think, if it wasn't for you...

So, here I am, looking forward to your AI stuff next season- right back here, at "Home".

This season's commentary was great and the live chats you provided gave us a chance to know the contestants better. It wouldn't be the same without your blog. Looking forward to seeing you next year!

I have never written to you before. Although I registered in 2006, I was never motivated to join in on any blogs. One day I saw your article on Eye on Idol and I was hooked. You have the talent to write your articles as if you were talking to friends. If you are leaving us, I will really miss you. Tell me it is temporary, and you and Eye on Idol will return in the same format. I have enjoyed the comments from the posters and made many new friends. Looking forward to the 2010 season of AI and your reviews. Thank you.

Hey Victor - I think this should keep going throughout the year!!! I mean American Idol is over - but it's actually just starting for the idols and we should be kept up to date on them and be able to all still chat and keep in touch yet! This is the first year I've been in this blog and their are some fantastic people in here. And we love agreeing and disagreeing with Victor, don't we guys and gals?!?!?!? :)

Here's to the best Idol season we've ever had (well, in my opinion, at least!) :) And the next season is TOO far away!!!!

This is very upsetting. Idol is a great competition and what makes it really special for those of us who love the show is Victor Balta and Eye on Idol here on Comcast . What would the season be without having Victor here????? What a disapointment to think that Comcast is even thinking of moving Victor elsewhere. Victor does a wonderful job and has brought together some great people who faithfully wait for each and every word he writes. He has a wonderful rapport with all of us on the Eye blog and I'm hoping this is just a rumor!!!! With the tours now on the road there is no reason for Victor's blog to go away even in the off season. Victor is needed to keep us informed and debate every thing about Idol and not just in the weeks of competition. Arrrgh!!! Leave Victor here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
