Rampage's Rampage Goes from Weird to Twilight Zone

It's been nearly a year since former-UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson tore a path through the streets of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, California in his suped-up Ford F-150, prompting a hit-and-run police chase that landed him in jail and nearly cost him his UFC contract.

Jackson originally pleaded not guilty to the incident, but later changed his plea to guilty when the possibility of serving jail time was nixed.

But according to TMZ.com, the shelved case has taken a new and rather puzzling turn.

The embattled Jackson, who has gone 2-0 in the UFC since the incident, is being sued by a woman who claims that the hit-and-run incident caused her to give birth to a stillborn baby.

The plaintiff, identified as Holly Griggs, is claiming Jackson rammed into her car "so he could escape and flee the scene (hit and run)." Griggs alleges that "the impact of her abdomen with the steering wheel caused her amniotic fluid membranes (bag of waters) to rupture, ultimately resulting in the stillbirth of her baby."

Jackson was taken into custody on July 15th and booked on hit-and-run charges. MMAWeekly.com reported that after a brief investigation, the Orange County District Attorney's office ruled against additional charges related to Griggs in the case.
"We reviewed all the medical records and spoke with the victim's physician, and the evidence showed that the loss of the fetus was not related to or a result of the crash caused by the defendant," said Farrah Emami, spokesperson for the DA's office.

Grigg's civil lawsuit asks for $25,000 in damages for "property damage, personal injury and emotional distress."

What do you make of Griggs' allegations? Is $25,000 an odd sum to seek? Weigh-in here.

Rampage is a great fighter and a good person. It is a fact that he had nothing to do with the woman losing her baby, she just wants free money. In the end the truth will come out and Rampage will be cleared of any wrong doing.

25k isnt that much to look like shes seeking a payday.
"she figured she would bank on someone's misfortune."

Oh please Ramapge is the one that got doped up and went nuts, how is that his misfortune. People need to take responsibility for their actions instead of acting like a victim. She wasnt sitting there hoping a steroid mma fighter would go all roid rage and hit her that day.

Is an unborn fetus really only worth 25K, plus her mental anguish, emotional distress, hang nails, hemroids, blah blah blah. The **bleep** is looking for a free ride for a little while, a year later she's realized who had hit her and figures this is a good opportunity to make some money without earning it. Just like all the other free loading losers out there.

Just because they did not charge him does not mean that he did not cause it. It just means that they can not prove it. There should be some penalty for acting that badly. If he had run someone down, no one would be defending him. As it is, I can't believe anyone would stand with him.

What about that statement don't you understand, it has nothing to do with what they could or couldn't charge him with. That statement is part of the DA investigation into the death of the fetus, when looking into what to charge him with!!
