Babe Didrikson, ... Because she was a female, Didrikson was limited to entering three events in the '32 Olympics. After choosing the javelin throw, 80 meter hurdles, and high jump, she nearly won them all. With gold medals in the javelin and hurdles, she then cleared the same height as Jean Shiley.
