If you’re looking to get to your destination in one piece -- and save money on gas along the way -- turn your music down. It will help you concentrate, drive steadily and conserve whatever is left in your tank.

8. Buy Gas Late ... Fuel, like many substances, can be more or less dense depending on its temperature. On a hot summer afternoon, gas will probably be denser, which isn't good for your wallet. Try filling up in the early morning or late evening when gas is likely to be less dense, thereby providing you with greater volumes.
7. Tighten the F... This tip might sound like a no-brainer… but many of us are preoccupied while at the gas station. Next time you pump, make sure your fuel cap is screwed on tightly to prevent gas evaporation. Don’t let your money float away.
