What is the BIG DEAL ??? Honestly, what is the big deal...now she's NOT a "christian'?? This is so ridiculous over a song? Why aren't the religous nuts saying anything about all of the rap and hiphop that denegrate women and propose just 'popping a cap in someone's head' if you don't agree with them? Get real you nuts....you're becoming the minority on same sex issues....finally. Did I hear FOX say that BOTH of her parents were PASTORS....whatever. I'm sure the Baptists/Pentacostals would say they weren't "christian' either !! Don't you know a woman can't be a preacher...at least not in fundamentalist circles....and she sure can't 'kiss a girl' ....whew...going to hell!

Perhaps the most controversiel girl song since "He hit me and it felt like a kiss". However, if that what young girls are doing these days then let them carry out thier fad. Every younger generation has shocking fads, and they pull through to critisize the next. Katy Perry either want's to go from 0-60 or want's to get back at her strict preacher father.

For a Christian to leave her faith and sing about things that will lead her culture and you astray is horrible!! For those uneducated about True Christianity--don't bother commenting if you dont know. I am a female pastor. 25 years old--the bible is full of women who preached and prophesied--Young girls need to be reminded how valuable they are in the Kingdom and world. They are not sex objects to be played with. They were not created to be little boys entertainment. Why are we sending little girls the message it is ok to be viewed as less than special. Playing this song from someone who has left their faith--is rediculous. She has lost all credibility--(the singer). If she was making music for money, she never had any true love for God. How can someone walk away from His love just to make a couple buck they cant take to Heaven

Girls kissing girls. It isn't new, It's just coming into its own as an activity. Articles like this are doing as much to drive it as anything else. I know the lapsed christian angle is arousing for editors *pant pant* but take that element out. Suppose Katy Perry was the daughter of a movie star or democrat congressman. It would get just as much play because it's a good track, the woman is attractive to both sexes, it engages the imagination and flirts with taboo. All the ingredients ofa pop or rock hit.

Or maybe I'm just partial to girls kissing,,,naw. I'd never fall for that cheap stunt. ;)

This girl if she's professing NOT to be a Christian, was never a Christian to begin with. Jesus says once we are saved we are always saved and His Word is ALWAYS TRUE! When you become a true Christian, you are still tempted and you still sin and make mistakes. You don't become perfect. The only person that was ever perfect was Jesus Christ! However, as a REAL Christian you avoid sinful LIFESTYLES. Obviously she is living a sinful lifestyle since homosexuality is a sin. God loves the sinner and hates the sin because it keeps us from having a perfect relationship with Him. He loves everyone just as they are and changes people AFTER they come to love him and accept Him.

Truly, I am sad for this young girl, Katy. She does not know the extent and the harm she is doing for the "Evil One". To put this melody in the heads of little girls and little boys, and also adults that it is not a big deal to experiment. The Bible clearly states what sin is. The Devil will use Gods children to do his harm in this world. He wants nothing more than to use one of God's own. To seperate Katy from her God.
"Katy", will hopefully one day repent of This (song )but, the sorrow of all of her sowing will be indefinate. This song is reaching millions and will do lots of pain to those in all kinds of ways. Little sin leads to big sin.
This song is a sellout if there ever was one. A cross roads of the worst. The old sell your soul if you could act. Repent! Katy, Repent! Jesus is waiting for you. Jesus is waiting for us all.
We have a choice in life. It's to work for God or for Evil. Your rewards of evil are of the world/money, fame, and prestige but your rewards of God are stored up in Heaven.

I don't see the big deal, it's a song it's not like she's telling girls to go out there and makeout with girls. Seriously, every rap artist out there sings about b****es and hoes and violence. Every other girl pop singer is singing about seducing guys and sex and no one is making a big deal about that are they. they ask "what kind of message is this sending to kids?". well what kind of message are the other popular songs out there teaching them? to disrespect women , that voilence is the answer ? the only reason this is so big is because our country still has issues about homosexuality to the point they think a song about experimenting with it will cause there kids to grow up trying it too. I mean really it's not that serious, if they're that worried about how media is going to infulence thier kids then everything should be censored or taken off the air ways. Heck, even Power Rangers and Spongebob has violence in it. Truth is if some people have a problem with it then they can keep it off thier radio, no ones making them listen to it.
I like the song and I'm gonna keep listening to it even if it's supposedly sending a bad message ( just like darn near every other song on the radio)

This is so silly. First, if everyone was so upset about what young people watch...all they have to do is TURN IT OFF. Raise your children people. Excuses excuses...."oh...I have no control what they do at school..." yea...whatever. Secondly...the 25 year old pastor...your age and denomination shows. READ YOUR BIBLE. You must be Episcopal or Anglican... the bible does say women are NOT to hold office in the church...they are also to cover their head because of the sin of Adam...., and yes...the bible also horribly condems homosexuals...I believe it says they are like dogs. Sooo...personally, I left Chrisianity a a while ago...I don't condemn any one......and it is very simple... if you care about what is fed to your children... stop working 3 jobs...change YOUR life first, and get involved with your children's lives. Who cares what an artist sings about...they are only making money for the big music corporations that own them. TURN IT OFF, spend time with your children, know who your kids friends are and who their parents are...and really SPEND TIME WITH THEM. It really is that simple.

This is ridiculous. First of all, who cares if she formerly was a christian singer? I guess she just wisened up. Sure she went a little bit further than wisening up, but who cares? If you don't like the song, turn it off. Its not telling girls to make out with eathother. Its just a song. Nobody gets worked up over rap songs, and all they ever talk about it killing people and having sex. But one time when a girl talks about kissing another girl its, "OH EM GEE DID YOU JUST HEAR WHAT SHE SAID??? SHES GOING TO HELL AND EVERYBODY IS GONNA BE FILTHY AND UNHOLY AND OMG THIS IS A CATASTROPHY!!!!!!111ONEONEONE" guys seriously chill out. its a catchy tune. for one thing, little kids listening to it won't understand anything thats being said. and i can assure you, this isn't the worst that those little kids have heard. a while back i looked up a song that i remember listening to when i was oh 7 or so. i found the lyrics and realized they were talking about sex the whole time. it flew right over my head. as it does with the kids listening to this song. if a guy had been singing a song talking about kissing another guy and it had just as catchy a tune as this one, kids would still listen to it. if you all haven't been paying attention for your past 30 year lifespans, nobody cares what the lyrics are. pop song lyrics mean absolutely nothing. Now is the time when i tell you that i am 16 years old. almost 17. the PERFECT age to be "corrupted" as you all put it by doing things that other people want. and guess what? i'm not going to be kissing any girls. i love this song, but i'm not going to start making out with girls just because she's doing it. i'm still going to like guys and if one were ever to request it, i'd probably kick his **bleep** and make sure he never thought of it again. if girls are dumb enough to do something they dont want to because of a silly pop song, then thats their problem, not the song's. because it also shows that they are weak when it comes to peer presssure. once some new trend comes around, they'll be doing that too. so don't be blaming the song for "corrupting girls", blame the girls for being pathetic wannabees.

oh and also all you christians need to stop whining so much, your all holy so your asses will be saved right? who cares if everyone else goes to hell, just let them do it if they want to.

The reason this is getting attn is bc she was "supposedly" a Christian prior to this. Jesus said once we are saved we are always saved. You can't become a Christian and then not be a Christian. If you claim to have been a Christian before and now say you aren't, then you were never a true Christian to begin with. That's God's word. Also God hates the sin, but LOVES THE SINNER! Every single person on this earth is a sinner, but God still loves ALL of us. However, it is our choice to accept his gift (his life) or reject it. Jesus said if you are not for me, you are against me. What's silly to me is that everyone is concernced about little things and not concerned about the big thing. This is just a tiny fraction of our life and the rest will either be spent with God or apart from God. My choice is to be with God and I pray that you will make a choice today to realize that you are not in control and HE is. It's so easy. All you have to do to become a TRUE Christian is love Jesus Christ and ask him to forgive your sins and if you truly love him you will want to obey him. I love my husband and so I want to make him happy, so I won't go out and cheat on him or do things to upset him it's THAT SIMPLE. Curious... were you brought up Catholic? That's something people typically call Christian, when many of their teachings are false.. Just curious!

Us silly Christians care about you so we dont' want you to spend eternity without God so that is why we open our mouths because we care about you and God cares all the more as he proved on the cross. Christians are not holy only God is holy not Mary or Saints or anything else the Catholic church makes up. We are not holy and that is why we need God because he lived a holy and blameless life and he sacrificed that for us. Obviously there are worse songs out there and I think the only reason this one is getting attn is so people have another opportunity to attack Christianity. I will pray for your salvation! If you choose to reject Him than at least I've tried.

AND i'm a christian. my family supports me, my minister is a lesbian! honestly what is the big problem? please try and prove me wrong. but if god didn't intend for their to be homosexuals, then why isn't there any rule's about it in the ten comandments? i mean COME ON PEOPLE. You are right in saying that God loves us no matter what, but if you read your Bible you would see that homosexuality or any sex outside of marriage for that matter is sin! No Christian is holy, only Jesus Christ was holy! That is iwhy we need God. Your pastor who is a lesbian shoud not be a pastor she is leading others astray and that is not the truth of God. God loves the sinner but hates the sin. Christians still sin, but they don't or shouldn't live sinful LIFESTYLES. I make mistakes everyday and that is why I need Jesus, but to willingly hurt my God and do something he tells me not to where is the love there? I love my husband and family, so would I go out and do something to hurt them or do something they specifically asked me not to do? God asks us not to do things bc they are in the best interest for us too. I pray that you will read the Bible with an open heart in entirety so you may know the real truth about God and not what some preacher is telling you. You should never rely on someone else's interpretation of the Bible... read it for yourself and see what a loving God we have.

1. i was not raised catholic. i was not raised christian. i was raised as nothing. now you may think this is ideal for corruption in a young child's mind. but in fact, i think it is the opposite. my parents didn't take me to church or anything, in fact we really didn't talk about this kind of stuff at all. so that gave me the freedom to think about it myself unbiased. this is the best way i believe. your not just following what you've been brainwashed to follow. and the funny thing is, when i brought it up to my dad (whom i never talked about this stuff with before) we both had the same views. strange isnt it? that we both came to the same conclusion. and he was raised a christian too, but he grew out of it. and so around last year, i came to the conclusion that i would most suitably be placed as a deist.

2. the thing is, you not wanting us to spend eternity without god is really annoying. truthfully, us aethiests and agnostics don't want to hear what you have to say. it would be like if they were to start walking door to door saying "have you heard the word of darwin?" if an aethiest started preaching to you, would you like it? no you wouldn't. because you apparently know better. but the thing is, we actually DO know better. so when your telling us all about god's forgiveness and love and all that crap, its like listening to someone who is convinced the world is still flat. comprende? when you follow a religion, you stop trying. you just say "oh well gods in control of my life so whatever happens must happen for a reason. lets let it happen". everything is a sign to you and you stop thinking for yourself.

3. now if christians were to just go be crazy in a little crazy group all by themselves, then i would have no problem with them. if you guys wanted to worship pencils as your idol, i couldn't care less, go for it. but you dont. unfortunatly, you involve everyone and you influence the world. this is what bothers me most. you hurt things that are innocent and have nothing to do with you. you affect my life in a negative way. that is why i dislike religion.
