Marie Osmond Slammed by Ex-Manager
By Audrey Morrison
Thu, 05 Nov 2009 22:03:21 GMT
Marie Osmond is being accused of hoarding her loot—including the $125,000 a night she makes for her Vegas show with brother Donny—instead of sharing what she contractually owes to the man who jumpstarted her fading career.According to TMZ.com, Karl Engemann, Marie’s former manager, and his lawyer Larry Stein don’t think the entertainer is playing fair. Stein paints a picture of an uber-greedy celebrity in this statement issued to TMZ:
"Shamefully, Ms. Osmond has fired Mr. Engemann 18 months into a 5 year written contract and seeks to enjoy the fruits of his labors without compensating him for his work."
Marie’s lawyer, Marty Singer, begs to differ.
Singer tells TMZ Marie fired Engemann "because he acted in an inappropriate, improper manner and breached his fiduciary duty to Marie."
Singer goes on to say Engemann defamed Marie, and she'll go after him for "substantial monies" and establish he has no right to more commissions.
A private arbitrator is currently working to settle this disagreement.

I can't stand either of them...I think they're phonies who are more money hungry than anything else. Otherwise why would Marie Osmond claim to be such a great mother of so many kids (and she always loves to remind everyone of that) but stay on DWTS when her son was going thru a crisis and needed rehab. Phonies!Fri, 06 Nov 2009 12:32:58 GMT | JerseyTomato254

If, in fact, the manager didn't uphold his obligations or his end of the contract she was in the right not to pay him the remaining amount. Contract or no contract, he can still be fired. As for being a "Christian" goes, she's Morman. There really is quite a difference. Perhaps the word to be used here is religious. Eh. Just a thought.

This is to sunsetmama who made the statement that Mormons are not Christians.. you ought to get your facts straight before you make a comment like that.Mormons definitely are Christians..they believe in and worship the same God and Jesus Christ that other religions do.In fact, the true name of the church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints." I don't know where people come up with this notion. They are both a religious and Christian people that try to serve God and mankind, try to raise good families and do right.God bless!Fri, 06 Nov 2009 14:50:59 GMT | hollygirl1212

I think they are equally as talented, and it sound like Ms. Osmond has a legitimate issue with her ex-manager.I live in Utah, and am subjected to Mormonism everyday. I know from living here that the majority of people that practice their religon are phony, brainwashed, and very oppressed.
LDS people make it very hard for non-Mormons to simply live their daily lives. Their religious rhetoric invades everyones personal rights.
I do not believe that LDS people are true Christians because they worship false prophets, and have their own version of the bible.
Take issue with my comments, if you please. I am being honest in my response.

They are both talented and lets not forget that when theOsmond's filed for bankaruptcy it was these two who
saved their family from ruin. I watched them since they
were children performing in the Andy Williams show and
the fact that Donny was the one that stoke the camera and
then Marie came along and recorded one of the greatest
songs of the year, Paper Roses. I think her ex-manager
is trying to get some monies out of Marie and nothing
else.

This is to hollygirl - it is very easy to say that "mormans are definitely Christians" but if you were to study what they really believe, you will find that they, in fact, do not worship the same God and Jesus Christ that Christians do. I am a Christian, and I know what I believe, because I spend time reading God's Word to us. I have had several discussions with morman friends, who, among other things, explained to me that Jesus and Satan are brothers, and that God was married. My attitude towards mormans is one of love. But one cannot hold what they teach and believe up to God's Word. So then a morman will say [because this is what they are taught] that non-mormans are interpreting God's Word incorrectly, that we need to include what Joseph Smith added. I can't find that in my bible. Also, being "religious" will not get you into Heaven. That's what Jesus came to tell the people and they killed Him for it. Raising good families and doing right won't cut it either. It's all about what Jesus did, and nothing about what we do. Jesus + something = nothing. Jesus + nothing = EVERYTHING. Check these things out for yourself, read up on what they believe, compare it to what the Word of God says, pray for wisdom, and then decide for yourself if you still believe that mormans are definitely Christians. To any mormans reading this, I write these things in love, nothing else. But love speaks the TRUTH - Ephesians 4:15.Didn't mean to go on and on here but there is alot of mis-information out there that I don't think gets addressed nearly enough.

Marie Osmond is a total phoney and has-been. She keeps talking about the 8 children she had...when she actually HAD only one child...the others are adopted. Which is a great thing to do, if she really cared about the kids and spent time with. Seems like all she cares about is Marie.Fri, 06 Nov 2009 17:43:37 GMT | JolieSimone

I think they are equally talented. Marie probably makes more money with her dolls than her singing.I agree that if the manager didn't abide by the contract he should not have any right to her money.
What does their religion have to do with the discussion of talent? I do not think a person who takes good care of their family and their finances is greedy. They are just smart, maybe frugal, but that doesn't equal greedy. Would you give your money to just any Tom, **bleep**, or Harry that said you owed them? NO...you would say prove it!

I believe Donny is more talented. Not because Marie has 8 kids, not because they are Mormon (by the way, Mormons don't believe Jesus was married), not because of the so-called "Christian" diatribe that tears down a particular religion, but because Donny is more talented. (By the way, Jesus would expect you to live like him to get to Heaven, not just believe).Fri, 06 Nov 2009 18:38:23 GMT | Soyboy
