'Golden Girl' Awaiting Heart Surgery

Rue McClanahan may have pals and confidants, but her heart is not being true to her.
The actress who played feisty Blanche Devereaux on the long-running sitcom, “The Golden Girls,” has been forced to pull out of her own tribute in San Francisco after being hospitalized this week for heart bypass surgery, according to SFGate.com.
"Trust me, I'd rather be in San Francisco having fun and being adored by all of you" than in a New York hospital, McClanahan said in a statement.
PinkPaper.com has some additional scoop from the ailing 74-year-old:
"Unfortunately, my doctor has laid down the law,” she admits. “And I'm currently having some maintenance on the old ticker."
Get well soon, Rue!

I really like all the 'Golden Girls!'Rue McClanahan was super in Nun Sense, and 'Maude' hasn't changed a bit - still saucy, tart, astringent, and right on the money!
'Mom' is like I'd like to be at her age, and Betty White is ditzy as ever. Lovely gals

Dorothy (Bea Arthur) was my favorite because she and I are alike; however, I loved Blanche because she was bold and proved that sex for the older generation was not only acceptable but a whole lot of fun.Thu, 05 Nov 2009 23:45:16 GMT | m7256s

I did not have a favorite. They were all good friends and still are. I remember Betty White from her early days in "Life With Elizabeth". Wonder if she remembers her days as a brunette. I enjoyed her then and still love seeing her.Thu, 05 Nov 2009 23:55:36 GMT | kdee

Honey, you'll be just fine - my hubby had a pacemaker, followed by triple bypass last December & he is fine! You will never leave us. We both loved you & Bea, Esther & Betty - watch your reruns on Hallmark every single day - probably know every word by heart, but never tire of them! You gals were (are) the greatest! Also loved you & Bea in "Maude." You are a beautiful and very talented gal - God Bless and keep you going strong, doll! Joan (jclkitty@gmail.com)Fri, 06 Nov 2009 01:09:28 GMT | JRMewing
